The Friendship House® Certificate is a programme designed for places that promote Tech-Free Zones — spaces free from excessive technology, fostering real connections, preventing isolation, and reducing screen addiction.
In an era of digital isolation, our mission is to create spaces that minimise scrolling, encourage real-world interactions, and support community building.
Who is the Friendship House® programme for?
The program is available for:
Businesses with physical locations (cafés, libraries, schools, sports halls, community hubs)
Outdoor activities (sports clubs, social initiatives, recreational parks)
Businesses and organisations operating in rented spaces but aligned with Friendship House® values
If your space promotes human interaction and reduces technology’s impact on social life, you can join the programme and receive the Friendship House® Certificate.
Benefits for Your Space
Every certified location receives:
A Friendship House® sticker for display on the building, stand, or meeting space
A digital certificate for websites and social media
Promotion within our network — listing in the Tech-Free Zones directory
Credibility — recognition for fostering offline community engagement
Partnership and networking opportunities — support for creating local initiatives and events

How Does Certification Work?
The first 6 months of certification are free.
After 6 months, an annual fee applies, based on business revenue.
We reserve the right to visit the registered location (if possible) or conduct an online verification to ensure compliance with the programme’s principles.
The badge is awarded for one year; after 12 months, recertification is required.
